MEMBER UPDATE – 15TH FEBRUARY 2024

CLUB OPERATING MODEL

An email to all Members on 13th February advised that the Club Committee had decided not to replace the Office Manager when Joanna Leighton Jones finishes on 31st March 2024.  The ‘treasury function’ will be outsourced on a ‘task driven’ basis to Taylor Keen.  The Club Committee will fulfill a range of the tasks required to operate the Club and Members will be invited to assist in a few areas.

COURTS

Courts 8/9/10 were cleaned during the ‘Christmas Break’.  (See photograph which shows the difference!)

Courts 3/4/5 are scheduled to be re-surfaced during the week commencing 18th March 2024.

A new net has been erected on court 9 and the old net will be offered to schools at no charge.

BENNETT CUP

The first leg of the historic inter club match against Nelson was played in November.  The second leg will be held at Nelson on 25th February and we need to do well to remain as holders of the Trophy.  The Club Captain, Stephen Dempster, leads on the team selection.

CLUBHOUSE

The Clubhouse has been hired out to a Member for 10 weeks (Mondays 7-9pm) from the 12th February).  Hire is an important way of creating income and thus all Members are invited to consider using the Clubhouse and/or courts for business or social events.

A problem with a small area of the floor has been repaired.  The age of the Clubhouse means that regular maintenance/repair will be an ongoing issue.

A small vacuum is now permanently on charge in the Clubhouse and is located by the wall adjacent to Court One.  Please feel free to use it keep Clubhouse tidy!!

LOST PROPERTY

Just a reminder that items of clothing are located in the basket by the entrance to the Ladies toilet.  ‘Abandoned’ drink bottles are to be found in the kitchen to the left of the sink area.   All items are disposed of to a charity if not claimed after two months.  (A reminder email is sent before disposals).
