Redevelopment Update - February 2026
Fundraising Update – We’re Making Great Progress!
Thanks to the incredible support of our members, sponsors, and community, we have already raised $296,674 towards the project — a huge milestone worth celebrating! 🙌
Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to transforming our club’s future. The momentum is building, but we still have work to do — and we need everyone’s help to keep pushing forward.
You can support us by:
- Donating through our Give a Little page
- Supporting club fundraising events
- Sharing our fundraising efforts with friends, whānau, and local businesses
Together, we can reach our goal and create something truly special for our community. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Multi Court Use
One of the most significant decisions has been the approval to incorporate Pickleball in the redevelopment plans.
Pickleball has been identified as the best fit for multi-court use for the club. It is compatible with tennis and is a sport that is experiencing rapid growth and popularity.
This will strengthen our chances of securing funding from our remaining funding applications which include Christchurch City Council, Rata Foundation and Lotteries Commission.
Major Fundraising Opportunity – Car Raffle
The Club Committee has supported plans for a major raffle featuring a car as the main prize, along with an E-bike and likely $1,000 New World vouchers as additional prizes.
This presents a fantastic opportunity to raise substantial funds by leveraging donated prizes — but it will require strong, tangible support from all club members.
We are aiming to launch the project in early March, with licence applications already underway (DIA approval can take up to 20 days).
Support Our Redevelopment – Give a Little Page Now Live!
The launch of our Give a Little page has been a fantastic step forward, and the early support has been incredibly encouraging.
Now we need your help to keep the momentum going! Please share the link across your social media networks, with friends, whānau, and the wider community. Every share increases our reach, and every donation — big or small — helps bring our redevelopment plans closer to reality.

Quiz Night – 2 March
The Redevelopment Committee would love to invite you to join us for a Quiz Night on Monday 2 March 2026 – a fun night out and a great way to support our court redevelopment project.
Monday 2 March 2026
Quiz starts 7.00pm - come along for something to eat before the quiz starts.
Pint and Pony, 1 Hamill Road, Halswell
$60 per table (teams of 4-6 people)
We’re delighted to have Andre Moore, Councillor for Halswell, joining us as our Quiz Master for the evening. Expect plenty of laughs, some friendly competition, and great prizes up for grabs.
To keep the night fun we encourage members to organise tables made up of friends and family, rather than entering as existing tennis teams.
We would also be very grateful to anyone able to donate items for spot prizes for raffles on the night.
To enter a team or donate a prize, please email Glennis Griffin at glennis@griffin.org.nz
Entry fees are payable to: Halswell Charitable Trust - Account: 06-0433-0715810-00
Promote Your Business – Banner Sponsorship Opportunities
We’re excited to offer Banner Sponsorship opportunities at Halswell Tennis Club — a great way for local businesses to support community sport while gaining valuable exposure.
With strong membership numbers, regular interclub play, coaching programmes, and major community events, our courts see a steady flow of players, families, and visitors throughout the year. Banner sponsors benefit from ongoing visibility in a high-traffic local environment while helping us invest in the future of our club.
Why become a Banner Sponsor?
- Promote your business to a wide local audience
- Show your support for community sport and youth development
- Be part of our exciting redevelopment journey
- Build long-term connections within the Halswell community
We are currently speaking with potential sponsors and would love to hear from any members or local businesses who may be interested or able to help make introductions.

Looking Ahead
A huge amount of work has already gone into the redevelopment project — thank you to everyone involved. The next few weeks will be critical as we progress funding applications, fundraising initiatives, and planning milestones.
