NEWSLETTER 26TH MAY 2025
LIGHT PROJECT
The Light Project is complete with the lights erected and operating on Courts 6 and 7. The opportunity was taken to improve the concrete path adjacent to Court 6. The side barriers to Court 6 which were removed for access by machinery will be restored shortly.
Members who contributed to the Lighting Funds will be invited to a ‘An Official Switch On’ which is scheduled for Saturday 14th June. An individual invitation is being sent.
COURT MAINTENANCE
The Committee decided to invest in a special Power Washer for cleaning the courts on a more regular basis. (Previously, a machine was hired.) This will allow for a longer period of use before a court has to be re-surfaced. This change of approach will reduce costs.
See below a photo of machine, the level of dirt that is removed and the ‘before and after’ result.

PRESIDENT GRADE COMPETITION – JOINING A TEAM
This is a popular Inter Club Competition organised by the Marlborough Tennis Association during the Summer months. A Team comprises 2 Men and 2 Women (plus Reserves) and is in a Doubles format. We want to have as many teams as possible from MTC. All levels are catered for as there are Four Divisions. If you have a Team or would like to be part of a Team please contact one of our Club Captains as soon as possible. (Taylor Keen on 021 216 0674 or Stephen Dempster on 021 371 870).
AGM AND NEW CONSTITUTION
The new Incorporated Societies Act and changes to the Tennis New Zealand Constitution and Governance Structure require the Club to adopt a NEW CONSTITUTION which is being in the process of being drafted. It will be circulated in advance of the Clubs Annual General Meeting which is provisionally set for the 2nd October 2025 and voted on at that meeting.
