DECEMBER 2021

Hello tennis players

We are excited to have the opportunity of engaging with Tennis Canterbury and Tennis New Zealand to be part of the "Club Culture" Pilot. Look out for further information in the New Year. Let’s all own the future of TKHP Tennis Club.

Covid 19 and the Orange traffic light;  The Committee considered the new COVID-19 protection framework regulations on Tuesday night and decided that for our club we will be operating as a no covid vaccine certificate (CVC) club.  However, for events such as the Seniors Tournament and Juniors Tournament in January, these will be CVC required for entry.

This decision will be reviewed continually. In the meantime we must all remember the basics, scan in, sanitise and keep up hygiene measures.

LIGHTING FOR ROW 1 UPDATE

We are working through the process to obtain the consents for the new lights. The Council, as landlord, has advised that Parks Department approval is required and that will need to be considered by the local Community Board in the New Year.

Separately, we need to obtain a resource consent because the lighting poles will be within 10 metres from the boundaries of our property.  We are consulting with our neighbours, the North Hagley Trust and the Croquet Club and hope to lodge for consent next week.

Any queries please let me know.

Regards
Sam (President)

LOVE TENNIS

LOVE TENNIS had a great turn out on Sunday 21 November.  All age groups took part and the coaches were kept very busy between the different groups.   Luckily the rain stayed away til lunchtime.  Thank you to Hugo, Christine, Noah, Natalie and Alkmini.

WORKING BEE - JANUARY

Are you able to spare an hour or two to help tidy up the clubhouse on 16 January?  Meet at 10am.  All helpers welcome.
