2026 AGM

Many thanks to those who attended the recent AGM – our best attendance for many years!

This year saw Mary Harper decide to take a break from her Secretary role – many thanks Mary for your wonderful 7 years of support.

We now welcome Robina Morrison as our new club Secretary.

Membership Fees

At the last Committee meeting on 22 July, it was agreed to hold membership fees the same as last year. We are all facing increasing living costs, so the Committee wanted to show their thanks to all members for their support and keep our fees the same for another season. 

Membership fees are being emailed Wednesday 26th to all members. If you have any questions about your membership or need to make a change, please email the club and our Office Manager will be able to help you.

Tennis Interclub around the corner….

Many congrats and thanks to those who have entered a senior tennis interclub team for 2026-27. Entries for the Tennis Northern interclub season closed a few days ago and we have entered 27 teams – or around 10% of all teams entered – and have another 7 mid-week ladies teams.

Draws are being finalized and should be available by 4 September. First matches start from Monday 15 September. Please note we have scheduled most midweek evening matches on courts 8-10, as the lighting on these courts is slightly better.

For junior tennis interclub, pre-registrations are now open and interclub trials are scheduled for Saturday 19 September. If you have any questions about junior tennis, please email the club and our Office Manager will be able to help you.

Squash Update

Last week we replaced the old Hawkeye lighting controllers with new light sensors on the squash courts – a huge leap forward for us, and the last action item with removing our old security system.

So those wanting to play squash no longer need the old keys to turn on the lights.

And congrats to our 2nd Masters team that just won their Div 4 pennant – Rob Nichols, Lachlan Trembath, Arthur de Boer, Peter Cairns, Al Davidson and Richard Adams!

Community Update

Harbour Sport is supporting a youth-led initiative created to help reduce barriers to sport by giving quality pre-loved sports gear a second life.

If you have sports equipment sitting unused, this is a great opportunity to clear out the gear cupboard and give it a new purpose.

Sports gear and equipment that is in good condition and ready to be reused – balls, bats, racquets, boots, training equipment and other sporting gear are all welcome.

Drop-off: Sports House, Stadium Drive, Albany

Donations close on Sunday 31 August.
