Welcome to the Whakatane Tennis Club!

At the Whakatane Tennis Club, we love tennis! 

And we love Pickleball !

Our club offers a variety of social and competitive Tennis & Pickleball events for players of all ages and abilities. Come and have a look and join the fun!

Available for daily use are 8 Astrograss surface Tennis courts (court numbers 1-8) or 2 Hard surface Tennis courts (court numbers 9 & 10) and 8 Hard surface Pickleball courts (court numbers 11-18) with state of the art roll on-roll off mobile nets up until 9.30pm (outside of Club sessions or Tournaments)

-All courts have floodlights when needed (a $10/hour fee applies in the coinboxes at the Main door)

-3 organised Tennis Club sessions:-

- Wed 8.30am -11.30pm
- Thurs 6.30pm - 8.30pm
- Sat 1.00pm - 4.30pm

-2 organised Pickleball Club sessions:-

-Mon 6.45pm- 9.00pm (Whakatane War Memorial Hall)

-Sat 9.00am- 12.00pm (Tennis Club starting 17 May)

All games are organised for you on our Club sessions by our friendly volunteer members and are played as doubles foursomes with balls provided by the Club . Lights are also provided on the Club night sessions when needed.

Bar facilities are available on Club sessions after 11.30am

-Shower and toilet facilities

-Junior and Senior  Tennis coaching is available on Tuesdays (see our Coaching page)​​

COURTS
Courts are available to members for their use, except for the times when organised club activities are being run, eg club sessions, tournaments, Interclub matches and coaching. Members are encouraged to book a court via Clubspark to avoid disappointment at busy times (it is free to book and play for a member and $10 for a guest accompanying a member, payable into the Honesty box in the envelopes provided at the alcove by the Main door) . 

LIGHTS
There is a light fee charge of $8.00 per hour which will light up two courts. The light meter boxes are situated under the alcove by the Main door.

COURT FEES FOR VISITORS/GUESTS
Would you like to play Tennis or Pickleball on our courts?

Non-members can come and play in the above Club sessions at a cost of $10 for the Tennis sessions and $7 for the Pickleball sessions.

Non-members are also welcome to use the courts ( 1-8 for Tennis only or 11-18 for Pickleball) outside of the Club sessions for $21 per 90 minutes per court and may simply book and pay online using the Clubspark Book a court system ( registration with Clubspark is free but necessary) 😊
