What a year it’s been!

With all the disjointed months in the middle of the year it has been a struggle to reschedule and complete competitions, but we have!

Coaching

We have kicked off this season with 60 juniors in coaching. We have been successful in keeping our junior membership prices lower due to continued funding and this year that has been through Harbour Sport, KiwiSport funding.

We have increased the number of sessions and all are well attended but we still have more room, and we are working on getting more children into tennis for term 1.

Frank Zhao our new coach from Kiwi Tennis has settled in well and is enjoying the junior’s company each week. He was also responsible for introducing tennis to years 2-4 students at Helensville Primary during term 3. It was great for many of the players to already know Frank once coaching started.

We also have Ashleigh, Bridget and Finn assisting on court this season with the juniors. Bridget and Finn have already attended the Tennis NZ Coaching Assistant course and Ashleigh is looking forward to completing the same course in the next 12 months. They have been a great help to the club and are enjoying working with our juniors.

Term 1 coaching registrations will be available soon and members will be notified. If your children would like to start tennis in the new year, please get in touch so we can add you to the mailing list for notifications. Spaces will fill quickly!

Business House Mixed Doubles

This is now in its 8th week with 16 teams competing. Competition is tight and we are now moving into the business end of the competition. The final games this year will be played on 10th December with the competition resuming on 11th February.

Club Spark

Our new membership management system is up and running through our website. Many of you will be aware that we are working towards the next component of the system that will allow online court bookings. Unfortunately, there have been some delays, but we are still hoping installation will be completed before Christmas. This will mean anyone, not just members will be able to book a court for play.
