The Northland Masters Tennis Club is excited to host the Tennis NZ Masters National Teams Event over Easter weekend in 2027.
Your Northland Tennis Adventure begins here..
The Northland Masters Tennis Club invites you to make a real holiday of your journey north and bring your campervans, caravans, cars, bikes etc and see some of the fantastic things that Northland has to offer, whilst in the area playing tennis.
You might like to do the round trip, visiting the marvellous Matakohe Kauri Museum on your way, via historic Dargaville to beautiful Baylys Beach and/or stay at the majestic Kai Iwi Lakes with its warm, silky silica lake water.
A short walk in to see Tane Mahuta, Lord of the Forest, our giant kauri tree within the Waipoua Forest, is well worth a look and is on your way north. Continuing on, visit the sleepy coastal settlements of Ōmāpere, Opononi and Rawene, before a therapeutic soak at the recently renovated Ngawha Springs.
The amazing Bay Of Islands, Kerikeri, Paihia, Waitangi and Russell await with all the area has to offer...or for those that wish and have the time, a trip to spiritual Cape Reinga and Spirits Bay in the Far North could be an option.
Travelling down to Whangārei via the east coast beaches is spectacular. There are many of them, so take your time and enjoy the warm settled weather we should still be enjoying then. Sandy Bay, Woolleys Bay, Matapōuri, Tutukākā coast and Ngunguru are recommended and just a short driving distance from Whangārei.
Whangārei has many great offerings such as the Quarry Gardens, Claphams Clock Museum, The Kiwi House, Hundertwasser Arts Centre, good cafes and restaurants, and several walks including The Loop, Parihaka,
Mair Park and AH Reed Park close to the city centre. Players' partners might like to avail themselves of several good golf courses nearby. A short drive further afield takes you to Whangārei Heads, with Parua Bay, Urquart's Bay, Taurikura and Ocean Beach on your journey, There are several good walks in that area also.
When in beautiful Bream Bay, don't forget the quaint and historic Scottish settlement of Waipū and the nearby stunning Waipū Cove. Closeby are Uretiti, Ruakākā and the developing area of One Tree Point.
Most places offer great food and coffee and there are lots of camping
spots on your journey.
A free camping area (non-powered) will be available at the Thomas Neale Tennis Headquarters in Kamo for those that wish to make use of that. The shower and toilet block will be available for use overnight.
The Meet and Greet evening and the Sunday night dinner will be held at the Kamo Club where there is
also a camping area (10 spots available - bookable via the Kamo Club). Two courtesy vans will be available after the dinner for a small fee. Tickets will be limited and sold on a first come, first served basis.
We look forward to warmly greeting you to our great province in March 2027.
