As Labour Day has just passed, the season is well and truly underway with heaps happening on court. Let’s hope this beautiful weather carries on!
Juniors
Junior Club Coaching started last Friday night. It runs all term from 3:30 - 8:30pm. We have 80 kids training over all six courts on Friday nights and another 40 of our younger players on courts 1&2 Saturday mornings from 8-11am.
Junior Interclub will commence Sun 30th Oct and run until mid-December. As we have entered six teams again this year, there will be home fixtures that utilise courts 1-4 Sunday mornings from 8:45am - 12:45pm.
Senior & Midweek Interclub
Senior Interclub is already underway on Saturday afternoons from 11:45am -5pm. At times we have two of our four teams playing on the same Saturday. Like Juniors, each team requires two courts. This year we also have two Twilight Interclub teams entered. One will play on Monday nights and the other on Tuesday nights. We will host about half of the fixtures. Come down and cheer the teams on!
Midweek Ladies have entered three Interclub teams this side of Xmas and they play Monday and Tuesday mornings 9am-1pm. Good luck ladies!
Private Coaching
Head Coach Sergey continues with his very popular After School and private lessons from Mon-Thurs 3:30-7:30pm on courts 5&6 with a few extra private lessons on weekends. You can contact Sergey directly at tesetenniscoaching@gmail.com for more info.
Social (just turn up and join in) sessions until Christmas
Wednesday Doubles Club Night is getting increasingly popular (6pm early birds, with the board starting by 7pm). Sergey will be targeting his Club Coaching clinics to different needs as advised. Sunday afternoon Club Day from 2-5pm is another great option for social doubles play. The bar is open toward the latter part of both sessions and all funds raised help keep up our facilities. You can also swap keys if need be.
As demand is high, we will trial another session on Thurs from 6:30-8:30pm on courts 1&2. This session will be aimed at gals and guys who’d like a bit more practice to feel comfortable getting involved on Wed and/or Sun.
Due to Twilight Interclub, Tuesday Singles will now need to be booked in by individual members when courts are free. Keep the What’s app group going and self-organise from there. New members interested in singles are welcome to join the group- just email us to be added.
There are two other chances for morning social play. Midweek Ladies runs on a Wed morning from 9am-12pm. They would love to increases their numbers, so if you have a flexible work schedule this could be ideal for you. The Vets session for the young at heart runs on Thursdays from 9am-12pm.
Court Bookings
We would politely request that individual courts bookings are kept to an hour at peak times (M-Th) 6pm – 9pm) so that all members have times to individually book if they wish to. And, as ever, don’t forget to cancel if your plans change.
It’s great to have such enthusiasm for tennis taking the club membership to new heights! Soon we may have to run a waiting list! So grab your racket, see old friends, meet new members and join in the fun!
