Who can play?

To play interclub you need to be a financial member of Plimmerton Community Tennis club. There’s also a $60 fee to cover our entry into the competition and new balls for each week. That fee covers both pre and post -Xmas competition. 

We generally enter teams in the mixed interclub competition. If there is demand we could enter other teams eg doubles, singles teams.

When does interclub competition start and end?

Pre- Xmas: October to early December.

Post- Xmas: Last week of January to April.

We organise our interclub by the end of September.

What is the format of mixed doubles Interclub?

- Teams of 4 players: 2 women and 2 men. 

- You play 3 matches each – 1 single sex doubles and 2 mixed doubles.

- 1 set to 9, with a tie break played at 8 games all.

- Games are on Saturdays starting at 1pm. We play at home and away. 

- Play typically lasts about 3 hours with afternoon tea. 

- We meet at Plimmerton Community Tennis courts about 12:30 for a home game and 12:00 for an away game. 

- Teams are usually from Wellington and sometimes up the coast. Not from Lower Hutt. 

- We aim to have 6 to 8 players in a team, as not everyone can play each week and injuries can happen. So with 7 matches you’ll get to play about 4-5 of these.
