Clariza began playing tennis at a young age, competing in Regional and National Tournaments in the Philippines from the age of 8. By the time she's 11, she has represented the country in Junior International Tennis Tournaments in Malaysia and Singapore. She continued playing tennis throughout her University years before moving to New Zealand in 2002.

Clariza is a 3-time Club Champ at Glenfield Tennis Club and she also plays in the top Grade of the Ladies Interclub Team where she's the Team Captain.

She is passionate about bringing tennis to young people and making it part of their active and healthy lifestyle. Clariza is part of the Hot Shots Programme of the Club as a volunteer Coach since 2019. She completed her Coaching Assistant Course with Tennis New Zealand in 2026.
