We might be biased, but, based centrally and directly next to the beautiful Botanic Gardens, we think we have the best club location in Christchurch. More importantly, we welcome people from all walks of life, and work hard to create an atmosphere that is social, enjoyable and supportive, while still providing expert coaching to allow those players with big dreams to reach their goals.

Our club has a long history. Records began in 1905 as United Tennis Club, and we are now the only club in Christchurch (and one of only a few in the country) to still have lawn courts. We hosted an early iteration of the Australian Open in 1906 on those very courts. We are deeply proud of our heritage, and thrilled that these unique courts are still available for all our members (and casual players) to enjoy. In addition to these 18 lawn courts, we have 6 floodlit plexipave courts and 4 astroturf courts, 2 of which are floodlit.

In 2017, Hagley Park and Te Kura Tennis Clubs joined forces to create the Te Kura Hagley Park (TKHP) Tennis Club we know and love today. We were thrilled to receive the Club of the Year award from Tennis NZ in 2018, in recognition of our successful merger.
