Message from the President

Hi everybody

Our AGM is fast approaching and it is very important that you all make it. The AGM date is Thursday August 26th at 6.30 pm. We will be going over our year, advising new membership fees, voting in a new committee, plus lots more. We will also be launching our new logos, website and club playing shirts.

A great thing to mention is that the majority of the committee (even after three years service ) wish to remain and carry on the great work they are doing.

Saturday tennis

Is in full swing. Last Saturday was fantastic and it was great to see many members taking their turn doing the draws. Nola also informed me that the week day tennis is going fantastically well!

New Lights

Our brand new LED lighting has arrived. What was once a dream has become reality. The replacement process is underway and we hope to have them going just before our AGM.

Dogs

Our no dogs on premises signage will be up soon. Please leave your pets at home.

Juniors

The junior committee have been working hard over the last few months getting children ready for tournaments. They just played in Taranaki last week and did very well. Well done to all you young members who participated.

See you Saturday

David Butters

Saturday 18th September from 10am - 4pm

Mel and Flo from Tennis Central joined us last Saturday for the LOVE TENNIS Buzz Night. Thank you to the 20 club members that attended. Every year Mel uses the feedback from all the clubs involved to improve LOVE TENNIS, so it was great to have her share all the new ideas and resources.

We need as many volunteers as possible for our LOVE TENNIS Day, so please email Steven if you can help, and  keep the 18th of September free.

Stratford Tournament July 2021

On the 23rd July, 5 of our club members left for Stratford to play in the S-Band tournament being hosted there. The TET Stadium where the tournament was being held, had an excellent setup where spectators could sit up upstairs and view the games across the 4 courts for the duration of the tournament. With an onsite restaurant and bar everyone was kept well fed and hydrated.

On the first day of the tournament, our members Revel, Ruby, Presteej, Lucas and Chris all had wins in their matches. On the second day our haul of wins continued with our players putting in some incredible efforts and showing a lot of grit and determination. As a club we can be proud of our team of 5 who put it all out there on the courts and represented our club brilliantly.

A special mention to our hosts, Taranaki Tennis, who once again put on a fantastic tournament. We look forward to our next meeting in October.

Below is the table of winners as per the draws. Congratulations to Presteej for winning her singles draw and to Chris for placing third in his draw. Ka pai team. You all did us so proud.
