Beach Haven Tennis Club has a diverse selection of coaches on offer. See some information for each of them below, get in touch and start hitting!

 

Göran Gerdin

Head coach Göran Gerdin has over 15 years of coaching experience from club to regional and national levels in Sweden, New Zealand and Australia.

Qualifications include Swedish high performance coach, Physical Education teacher and Tennis Coaches New Zealand registration.

Currently he is running coaching for a variety of the club’s members ranging from the younger beginners on a Saturday morning and the junior interclub players during the week to our senior interclub teams.

Ronald Benedict Casanova

Ronald originally hails from the Philippines and is an active member of the Club. 

He is a member of the BHTC Coaching Team for the Summer and Winter Season and is also doing some private coaching for new members - either individually or in small groups.

He has completed his Coaching Assistant Course with Tennis New Zealand and is currently working his way through the Junior Development Course next year. 

Ronald also enjoys playing singles and is happy to have a hit with anyone who is keen. 

When he's not playing or coaching, you can find him at the driving range trying to improve his golf swing.

Moss Ratanaphol

Moss is our Junior Convenor and additionally runs a very popular Adult beginner / rusty racquet session on a Sunday from 4-6pm .

Norman Quinn

Norm is a well-known experienced member of the club, who with an enthusiastic and encouraging style has provided coaching to many of our newer members. 

He is also currently available to give some coaching.

Robert Grundy

Robert started his coaching career back in 1983 around the corner at Northcote Tennis Club.

He obtained his New Zealand coaches bronze badge back in 1985/1986 and has had success coaching full-time or part-time ever since.

With experience playing college tennis in the US, Rob particularly enjoys sharing his extensive knowledge and skills with kids and beginner adults, as well as match strategy.
