Head Coach at HNTC - Rynold Timothy - High performance Junior/ Adults
Rynold Timothy, formerly from Kerala, India, moved to Hawke’s Bay in 2015. Rynold achieved a National Ranking of No. 16 in India and was the 7-time champion of his state. Rynold has played in the main draw of men’s ITF tournaments.
Rynold began his coaching career in India where he coached several of the top juniors in the country. Since relocating to New Zealand, Rynold has immersed himself in the Tennis Eastern development programme. He is the Lead Coach of the Tennis Eastern performance programme and was the Hawke’s Bay Performance Coach of the Year 2020-2021.
He has achieved a qualification as a Tennis Australia Junior Development Coach and is a USPTR Qualified Tennis Coach. He has also acquired a Bachelor of Commerce degree in India.
His specific expertise with highly competitive young players and adults is where his passion lies. He hopes to build the Havelock North Tennis Club into a club where his players can see a viable pathway to playing at a highly competitive level both nationally and abroad. He plans to achieve this by building a solid foundation for junior players through programmes such as the Hot Shots.
As well as a focus on individual players reaching their future potential, Rynold is passionate about building the Havelock Club into one of the best clubs in the country.
