Rynold Timothy, formerly from Kerala, India, moved to Hawke’s Bay in 2015. Rynold achieved a National Ranking of No. 16 in India and was the 7-time champion of his state. Rynold has played in the main draw of men’s ITF tournaments. 

Rynold began his coaching career in India where he coached several of the top juniors in the country. Since relocating to New Zealand, Rynold has immersed himself in the Tennis Eastern development programme. He is the Lead Coach of the Tennis Eastern performance programme and was the Hawke’s Bay Performance Coach of the Year 2020-2021.

He has achieved a qualification as a Tennis Australia Club Professional Qualified Coach / ITF Level 2 a Coach. He has also acquired a Bachelor of Commerce degree in India. 

His specific expertise with highly competitive young players and adults is where his passion lies. He has already built a strong  pathway for junior players at Havelock North Tennis Club to be playing at a highly competitive level both nationally and abroad. This pathway starts with a solid foundation for junior players through programmes such as the Hot Shots. 

As well as focussing on individual players reaching their future potential, Rynold is passionate about building our club into one of the best in the country.

Rynold has travelled as a coach of New Zealand U12 representative teams to international tournaments in Hong Kong and Australia.
