Situation Vacant - Permanent part-time Administrator

 

Office Administrator

Mid Canterbury Tennis, Oak Grove, Ashburton

Permanent part time (up to 18 hours per week).

We are seeking an experienced Administrator to play a critical role in providing administrative support to our organisation.  You will have a pleasant personality, be a good communicator and be a quick learner who can pick things up easily, someone who is accurate and holds their work to a high standard.  Proficiency in Microsoft office, especially Word and Excel, would also benefit your application.  This role will suit an administrator who is capable of working on their own in an efficient manner.  An interest in Tennis and/or experience in sports management would also be an advantage.

With tennis being a seasonal sport, the role also has seasonal elements with the winter period being less onerous.  Occasional attendance at weekend tournaments is also required. (approx 3 per year).

Hours, to some degree, can be flexible.

  • General office administration
  • Receipting and Banking
  • Posting news and events through social media
  • Website maintenance
  • Board minute secretary
  • Membership database management
  • Administrator of tournaments
  • Administrator of Junior Tennis

Mid Canterbury Tennis

Mid Canterbury Tennis is a sub Association of Tennis Canterbury

At the Braided Rivers Charitable Trust Ashburton Tennis Centre we offer coaching for all ages & stages, and hold regular competitions both competitive & social, during the season & over winter.

The Braided Rivers Charitable Trust Ashburton Tennis Centre boasts 16 plexipave, floodlit, competition level tennis courts, with a spacious pavilion, in the surrounds of the Ashburton Domain, Oak Grove, beside the hospital.  Only an hour's drive from Christchurch or Timaru.

The Centre is open for use by all members of the public wearting non marking sports shoes for an entry fee of $2 at the turnstile.  This fee is for use of the courts allowing you to play as long as you wish or until local competitions are due to begin.  Second hand tennis balls can be purchased at the vending machine at the entrance for $2 a pair.

Mid Canterbury Tennis have purchased an AED Defibrillator which is located on the verandah facing the tennis courts.  Many thanks to Fonterra Grass Root fund for the grant to allow the purchase of this item.
