1. How do I find out if my club coaching session/club day is cancelled?
COACHING / CLUB DAY CANCELLATIONS - To find out if a session is cancelled due to wet weather, go to our Facebook page firstly or website home page and scroll to 'What's on":
* on laptops/computers, the notice is on the top right hand corner of the home page
* on cellphones or devices the same notification is shown when you click on the menu icon ≡
Sometimes a group text will be sent to cancel a session however, please check website and Facebook page as a backup.
A decision to cancel a particular event will be made 1hr to 30 mins prior to its start.
One particular coaching session being cancelled doesn't necessarily mean that all sessions will be cancelled that day.
INTERCLUB CANCELLATIONS - this is managed by your team captain.
For Saturday Interclub, your team captain consults specific rules (e.g. for A grade interclub no match is to be cancelled until 2 hours after the set start time).
2. How do I get a club key?
To get a key, one must be an adult club member. Alternatively, one can pay an annual "casual court user only" fee instead of becoming a member.
A charge of $30 as a key bond is also applicable. See membership form for details.
Otherwise, members of the public can play on our courts on a casual basis when the courts are open for $5 per session or $10 per court.
Access to a key is a privilege - keyholders look after the courts and clubrooms like their own homes and lock up when finished.
3. What do you offer for beginners?
Beginners are well catered for with group coaching sessions on Tuesday evenings and Friday mornings, individual lessons if wanted, social tennis on Friday mornings and Sunday afternoons as well as Pukekura Twilight Tennis with Head Coach Mark Belcher on Wednesday evenings once you have an understanding of the basics. Go to Programmes Seniors page and Coach Mark Belcher's page for more info.
