JUNE 2022

June has begun with some unseasonably warm weather, keeping you from the ski fields for now.

Too much time on the couch was had over the past two weeks watching the French Open.  Wow what a beautiful spectacle.  Congratulations to Nadal and Świątek - c'est exceptionnel !

Welcome to our new Senior Members:
Nathan McCulloch, Matthias Alexander, Andrew Bishop, Nurina Katta, Steve Yang, Kimberly Wong, Ben Williams, Katherine Ip, Randall Lee, Gareth Jones, Simon Todd, David Flemmer

And new Junior Members:
Lucas Yu, Noah Zhang

Congratulations to our club champs Mixed Doubles finalists - Petra/Tim and Hugo/Beth.

Following a rain break and change of venue, Beth and Hugo snuck past the tough opposition to claim the title 6-4, 6-3.

Great tennis guys!

Our Annual General Meeting date has been set for the 6th of August 2022 3:30pm at the Clubhouse.

Pop it in your diaries and have a think about how you would like to contribute further to the club, by either becoming a committee member or offering your skills.  We would love to hear from you.

For the last few months members have been taking up the option of parking alongside/behind the Pétanque courts (on the grass).  We are expecting building on that grass to commence this or next month, so any parking in this area is now not possible.

Some of the Astro courts on Row 2 are very slippery at the moment. We urge caution if using.   We are currently investigating  why drainage is not happening as it should.

Row 2 is on the committee's list of "things to do" following our current focus of lights for Row 1.

Pop the 24th of September in your diaries - more information to come next month.....

We have farewelled Jeremy - our groundskeeper for the past year.  Come Spring we will be hiring again.

The position is 30 hours per week Sept – April and 8 hours per week May-August and requires maintaining the courts, grounds, pavilion & equipment.  A summer work programme of tasks is provided along with onsite training & support.

We are seeking anyone with the required skills and interested in this position to send your CV or enquiry to info@tkhptennis.nz .

Saturday organised Social Play @ TKHP

Come and join us on Saturday afternoons over winter for organised social play 1.00 - 3.30pm followed by afternoon tea in the Clubhouse.

Everyone is welcome, and we encourage junior interclub members to join in too.  All matches are doubles and you have a change of partner every 25 minutes.  Members play free, non-members $10.

See you there
