AUGUST 2022
Hello members
Thank you to all the members who turned out for Club events over the past week. At the AGM, our President Sam Hetherington stepped down. We wish to thank Sam for his three years of service to the Club. His calm and thoughtful nature will be missed by the Committee. Stepping in to this position is Milo Kral. Milo has been a member since 2018. He is an avid tennis player so you will likely see him on the court, either working on his technique, playing social or interclub.
We also farewelled Giuseppe, who after two years of service on the committee will definitely be missed. Mark Stringer is another new committee member and will be an advocate for midweek players.
We were excited to receive a nomination and to duly elect Bruce Dunstan as an honorary life member. Life membership is an honour bestowed on a member whose exceptional, loyal and outstanding service and contribution has provided a measurable benefit to the club over an extended period of time. Bruce definitely fits into this category, having contributed a lot of time and energy to the club over the past 30+years.
It's time to sign up for activities for the coming season.
Registration for juniors, hotshots and seniors is now available - please see details below.
August 21 - Burnside friendly
September 11 - Love Tennis and Junior Open Day 11-4pm
September 24 - Club Culture event
The Quiz night was a great success. The winning team "40-Love" (Mary, Janina, Emma, Milo, Hugo, Tom, Dan and Giuseppe) took away a large bag of Allsorts, while the bottom team got the teeniest bag of Smallsorts! There were three raffle prizes, which were very enticing. Altogether the club raised ~ $700 over the night. Thank you to all the organisers, those who came out on Thursday evening and to everyone who donated goods for the raffle.
It was so much fun that another date will be coming up later in the year.
