Summer 2025/2026

The World Tennis Number Is Coming To Interclub
Kia ora Interclub Players,
We’re excited to announce that starting September 2025, Tennis New Zealand will officially adopt the ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) as the new national ratings system for all Interclub competitions nationwide.
The WTN is a modern, inclusive, and global rating system developed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). It provides a unified rating for all players regardless of age, gender, or playing level, from beginners to elite athletes.
Why the WTN?
Following a national competition review, modernising our grading system and aligning with this international system was identified as a key priority. The WTN offers:
- Global comparability - see how you stack up against players worldwide
- One rating across all formats - Interclub, tournaments, and social play
- Accurate player matching for fairer, more competitive matches
- Weekly updates based on match results
How to Get Started
A WTN will have been generated for Interclub players, as long as:
- You have a date of birth associated with your current MatchHub rating.
- You have played an Interclub match or tournament within the last three years.
To check your WTN:
Head to our new MatchPoint rankings page and type in your name.
If you appear, you’ll be able to view your singles and doubles WTN.
IF YOU DO NOT APPEAR IT IS DUE TO A LACK OF INFORMATION SUCH AS DOB IN YOUR CLUB SPARK PROFILE - PLEASE LOG IN TO CLUB SPARK AND UPDATE ALL PERSONAL DETAILS - log in found on right hand upper corner of this page
You can then create a WTN account to unlock extra features on the WTN website.
