Hi Everyone.

 

Spring is here which means we are getting into proper tennis weather.

 

Working Bee

A big thank you to everyone that came along to help out at the working bee. Everything is looking really good; the clubhouse, garden, weeds gone, courts sprayed, hedges trimmed, drains cleared, fencing repaired.

 

We appreciate your time and effort.

 

Love Tennis

We had a terrific day on Sunday for the Love Tennis event. Amazingly it was dry and sunny to the point where sunscreen was applied.

 

There were plenty of kids having a great time on court and lots of families finding out about the club. They must have been running hard as they proceeded to demolish 120 sausages from the BBQ.

 

Welcome to the new members that joined up on the day. Can’t wait to see you on court.

 

A big thank you to Pete Hoyland for providing the coaching on the day. He and his team of Hannah, Cole and Issy ran sessions all day with tips and games.

 

Thanks to Hell Pizza for contributing prizes on the day as well as Tennis NZ for promoting the day.

 

Interclub

Junior and Senior interclub teams will be formed over the next month.

A separate email will be going out to get confirmation of those that want to be playing this summer.

 

The first round will be on the last weekend of October.

Senior – Friday Night Oct 28

Junior – Saturday Morning Oct 29

 

Junior Club Night

Junior Club Night gets underway in term 4. The first session is Friday October 21st.

 

This will follow the same structure as last summer which proved to be a hit with all the kids.

 

Senior Social Tennis at Beerescourt

There are a number of slots during the week for social tennis at the club.

The midweek tennis is from Monday to Thursday mornings from 9:00 – 10:30.

 

On the weekend it is Sunday morning 11:00 – 1:00pm.

This will start up again on Sunday October 2.

 

There has been some talk about putting on a session on Wednesday evenings during daylight saving. Time would be something like 6:00 – 7:30.
