October 2025
Hi Everyone.
Welcome to summer and the start of the tennis season.
There is a fair bit to look forward to.
Interclub Tennis
Our senior teams begin next Friday, 17th October.
Our top team are defending their title after winning the Premiership league last
summer.
Thanks to the guys at PKF in Hamilton for sponsoring them this season.
We will also be fielding two further senior teams to compete in Division 1. Good luck
to all our players.
Junior Interclub begins on November 1.
A final call out for those interested in playing as our teams need to be finalised next
week.

We’re looking forward to getting all those wanting to play into teams and on court.

Funding Acknowledgement
We have received grant funding to help with the operations of our club.
We’d like to thank the following for their support.
Sponsors Apex Construction, Terry Ryan of Lugton’s Real Estate, Credit First Union,
Construct Ltd and Hell Pizza Beerescourt.
Lion Foundation - for their support of our Junior Club Night valued at near $4,000.
The club is grateful to Mercury Energy, and in particular to its Programme Manager,
Simon Hill, who recently facilitated getting the Club a $1,200 grant to assist with the
grooming of the artificial courts.
Hill, pictured 2nd from left in the photo below alongside three of our committee
members (Doug, Phil & Don), is a big tennis fan, and is known by many within the
Waikato tennis community as “The Cat”, such are his fast reflexes at the net.
Senior Social Tennis
We have a number of sessions each week for members, and casuals, to join in.
There are two sessions for mid-week mornings
Mondays and Wednesdays, play starts at 9am followed by a cup of tea at 10:30.
There are two adult sessions each week.
Wednesday, play starts at 5:30pm.
Sunday, play starts at 11am.
These sessions are for any member who’d like to have a hit.
All members are welcome. Non-members too can join in for $5 a session.
Professional Tennis
The Bayleys Open ITF World Tennis Tour Tournament is being held in Hamilton from
8–14 December. This is a good opportunity to get to see local and international pro
players compete for ATP & WTA Tour points. All matches will be at the Waikato Tennis
Centre.
Coaching
Kiwi Tennis partners with our club to provide coaching. This includes the junior squad
sessions on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
They also offer coaching to adults with his excellent crew of coaches.
Get in touch with Pete to organise some sessions at a time that suits you.

Book A Court
Book A Court. This is a facility to give all casual, non-members the opportunity to hire
a court for play. Bookings are made on our website.
Once the payment has been made a code is provided for them to enter via the new
gate.
The keypad on the padlock is connected to the site and access is granted for that
booked time.
For members, not a lot changes. Access to the club is still via the main gate with the
key. We have blocked out our regular playing sessions for coaching, midweek tennis,
senior club day, junior club night and interclub so casual play does not clash.
If you haven’t already, click on ‘register’. Your email address will link to your
membership so that when you do book there is no charge. Being registered on our
website guarantees you will receive all notifications and newsletters.
Main Gate
A reminder to shut the main gate behind you on your way out after playing. It’s easy
to forget sometimes but is important to keep the courts and clubrooms secure.
