Grey United Tennis Club

Grey United Tennis Club has been the central tennis courts in the hub of Greymouth since 1981. It has undergone a few changes since then, with the latest being the restoration of the court surfaces and the replacement of our court lighting. We pride ourselves on being community oriented welcoming school and small interest groups to use our facilities for a small donation. A healthy membership keeps our club afloat, and we aim to get as many people playing tennis because it is such a great sport for players of varying abilities. On club day and during coaching days, we have racquets and balls to help get you started. We hope to secure regular coaching on a Friday/ Saturday so we can offer different coaching for the beginning player to the more advanced, children and adults. 

One of the most popular forms of play is our twilight competition which is a social doubles competition, formally business house, that runs throughout the season on a Monday evening. You can join a team or be on a reserve list if you can’t manage an ongoing commitment. 

We are keen to develop a teen twilight evening for social play. Looking ahead we have a big project to upgrade our clubrooms, which our club spirit and enthusiasm we know we can achieve.
