Our vision is to create a modern, accessible, sustainable and welcoming community tennis facility for Manurewa and South Auckland.

Our future initiatives are focused on four key areas:

Growing Tennis in Our Community

We want to make tennis easier for more people to discover, try and enjoy. Future initiatives include community Open Days, junior and youth programmes, partnerships with local schools, beginner coaching, social tennis, family activities and community events.

Our aim is to provide pathways for people to try tennis, learn, play socially and progress into competitive tennis if they choose.

Better Access to Courts and Lighting

We are exploring ways to give members greater access to court lighting for evening play, including integration with our court booking and member access systems.

Our goal is to make accessing and booking courts simple, convenient and fair, while managing energy use responsibly.

Solar Energy – In Progress

The club is investigating solar power and battery storage to make use of our large covered roof area.

Solar has the potential to reduce electricity costs, support court lighting and improve the long-term sustainability of the club, allowing more resources to be directed towards tennis and our community.

Future Clubhouse Extension

We are considering the future extension and redevelopment of our clubhouse to better support a growing membership and increased community use.

Additional space could support members and families, coaching, junior programmes, tournaments, community activities and social events, while creating a more welcoming connection between the clubhouse and courts.

Looking Ahead

Our future is about more people playing tennis, better access to our facilities and building a sustainable club for generations to come.

By investing in participation, accessibility, sustainability and our facilities, we aim to establish Manurewa Tennis Club as a thriving community tennis hub for Manurewa and South Auckland.
