One of the most significant developments in the club's history began with a vision to provide all-weather tennis in Manurewa.

The Dome project progressed through several years of planning, fundraising, consenting and construction. Landowner approval was received in December 2022, building and resource consent applications were lodged in February 2023, building consent was approved in July 2023, resource consent followed in September 2023, and foundation works began in December 2023.

The project received significant support from the community and funding organisations, including a $400,000 allocation from Auckland Council's Sport and Recreation Facilities Investment Fund.

After years of planning and hard work, the Dome was completed, providing permanent weather protection over four of the club's six courts.

Today, Courts 1–4 are hard courts protected beneath the new Dome, giving members and the wider community access to tennis throughout the year and significantly reducing the impact of Auckland's rain and changing weather conditions.

The club's remaining Courts 5 and 6 feature synthetic grass surfaces, giving Manurewa Tennis Club a combination of covered and outdoor playing options. Together with modern LED floodlighting, the development has transformed the Russell Road facility.

The Dome project was made possible through the support of numerous organisations and people, including Auckland Council's Sport and Recreation Facilities Investment Fund, Pub Charity, Four Winds Foundation, Trillian Trust, Wiri Licensing Trust and Grassroots Trust, as well as the Manurewa Local Board, local iwi, club members, volunteers, contractors and the wider community.

The completion of the Dome represents much more than a new building. It is one of the largest developments undertaken by Manurewa Tennis Club since its move to Russell Road in 1973 and marks the beginning of a new era for tennis in Manurewa.
