Tennis One x A Balanced Co. NZ at Mission Bay
Some nights just remind you why you do this.
No scoreboard. No pressure. No "you need to know how to play before you show up." Just 20+ women arriving at Mission Bay Tennis Club, picking up a racquet for the first time, and leaving two hours later with sore cheeks from smiling.
That was Tennis With The Girls.
A partnership built on a shared belief
Tennis One and A Balanced Co. NZ share the same core conviction — that wellness, movement, and community should feel good. Not intimidating. Not exclusive. Just real, accessible, and genuinely enjoyable.
When the two came together to create this experience, the brief was simple: build an evening where tennis was the vehicle, not the barrier.
We think we nailed it.
What happened on the night
From the moment players walked onto the courts at Mission Bay, the energy was warm and welcoming. Our coaches ran a guided beginner workshop that eased everyone in — no technical overload, no jargon, just fun fundamentals that had the group rallying within minutes.
Then came the social matches. Partners rotated, conversations flowed naturally, and the courts came alive with the kind of laughter that only happens when people genuinely let their guard down.
Evening light over the Waitemata. A sea breeze rolling in. Good company on all sides.
Mission Bay did what Mission Bay always does.
More than a tennis lesson
Events like this one represent what Tennis One has been building toward.
We started as a coaching academy, delivering great tennis lessons at Mission Bay. We still do that, and we do it well. But over time, we've realised something: the people who stay, the ones who become regulars, the ones who drag their friends along, aren't just here for the tennis.
They're here for how it makes them feel.
That understanding has shaped everything we've done since. From our Friday Night Socials and Mix Tour series, to Rally & Romance with Thursday Auckland, and now Tennis With The Girls alongside A Balanced Co. NZ. Every event is intentionally designed to lower the barrier to entry and raise the quality of the experience.
Tennis as a catalyst for connection. That's the direction we're heading.
The response said it all
Nobody wanted to leave.
That's the clearest signal we know. When people are glancing at their watches hoping there's more time, when strangers are exchanging numbers in the car park, when the question shifts from "what was this?" to "when's the next one?" — that's when you know you got it right.
What's next?
More. Always more.
Tennis One's social event calendar continues to grow, and partnerships like this one with A Balanced Co. NZ are a big part of that story. If you've been waiting for a reason to get on a tennis court, consider this your sign.
No experience needed. Just bring good energy.
