Ladies Grades (7 May through 27 August)
Wednesdays 6-7:30pm
Work on your singles and doubles game and stroke accuracy
$10 per session
Mens Grades (18 May through 31 August)
Sundays 5:30-7pm
Work on your singles and doubles game and stroke accuracy
$10 per session
Group Lessons - 3-For-Free
These are the club sponsored group tennis lessons. Beginner, Beginner Plus and Intermediate group lessons are offered. The following schedule will be in place through 31 August 2025:
Beginner - Tuesdays 6-7pm
Beginner Plus - Mondays 6-7pm
Intermediate - Mondays 7-8pm
All three levels - Saturdays 12-1pm
(on Saturday the two coaches will split up the group based on skill level)
Members can take these lessons for free and non-members can take up to three lessons at no charge and then it's $12 per lesson or they can become a member of the club. See the link below for the description of each lesson type and to fill in the dates you'd like to join us. Racquets are available for new players.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your lesson starting time. We're looking forward to seeing you at the club!

Weekly Social Tennis
Come down and we'll match you up for some fun doubles. If you want to play singles, that can be set up as well. Non-members can try it out for up to 3 sessions at no charge. Here are the times:
- Saturday, 1pm-5pm
- Tuesday, 10am-11:30am
- Thursday, 5:30pm-8:30pm (LED lights on courts 1-4)
- (Wednesday, 5:30pm-8pm is added in the summer season, end of September through March)

Burwood Park Tennis Club is situated in Cresswell Avenue in Burwood and nestled under the trees of popular Burwood Park, about 8 minutes’ drive from the centre of metropolitan Christchurch, with the bus stop just outside our clubrooms.

As a premier club in the eastern suburbs, we cater successfully to Junior, Midweek, Mixed Doubles and Senior Tennis for more than 80 years!
Around 500 tennis enthusiasts from our wider tennis community use our facilities through various competitions organised by the club and Tennis Canterbury.

Our coaching crew delivers every summer weekend through the school term a world class Hot Shots tennis program. Junior “learners” play a version of the adult game, using modified equipment to enhance their tennis experience. Hot Shots is then a feeder into Junior interclub.
The culture at BPTC creates inclusive environment where seniors and juniors play together and yet we also encourage players to be matched to levels of tennis within their playing range - for fun and fitness or for competition at the highest level. No matter what your intensity, we’ll always encourage a nice cup of tea or something stronger at the end of the day, to review the day's play.
