SENIOR MEMBERS
We have something for everyone at NPTC and we encourage you all to get involved.
Summer Club Nights – Thursdays 6pm-dark
These start late September running through to late March.
Club night is a casual way to meet and play with new members, no matter your ability. We arrange random doubles pairings, play games to 21 points (like table table-tennis rather than regular scoring), and then mix things up again. Our more experienced players are always keen to give beginners tips and pointers to help everyone become the best players possible. Come along and give it a go!
Senior Coaching
Individual and small group private lessons are run by One Community Tennis Coaching on Fridays at the club and can be booked through the coaching link on the website or by contacting Troy (our head coach) directly. Currently private lessons are held on Fridays between 11 am and 5pm. Further details on additional senior coaching offerings will come in due course.
Interclub competitions
Sign-up for the Senior inter-club competition and play against members from other clubs in singles or doubles competition, available for all graded levels. To play interclub you need to have a Senior club membership (rather than Social senior membership) as the club need to pay affiliation fees for anyone playing competitive tennis. There is also an additional charge at the end of the interclub season based on how many games you played ($7/game).
SUMMER SEASON - Senior members play on Saturday afternoons on a variety of courts across Wellington from early October to late March, with a break over the Christmas period.
We currently offer Mixed interclub and a Mens team. We are always open to increasing the number of teams and/or entering different grades/formats.
WINTER SEASON - Winter mixed interclub - fortnightly on Sunday afternoons
For queries or expressions of interest please get in contact with the club captain.
This is a good time to remind our members that we are a volunteer-based organisation and the club relies on the support of every member. The key activities where we need your full support are our working bees and our quiz nights. Many hands make light work and that adage is certainly true here.
