Some important reminders:
- Time Management. Be warmed up and ready to play before your allocated match time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your opposition has the right to cancel the match and claim the win. Teams to use their discretion around this rule, sometimes certain circumstances such as traffic delays are unavoidable. Tennis Manawatu reserve the right to make the final decision around any time delay conflicts.
- Senior A & B. 12.30pm warm-up. 1pm start. If juniors are still playing, they have right of way on the courts until 1pm.
- Prems. 5.30pm warm-up. 6pm start.
- Order of play. Players within your team should be ranked based on S grade ranking points. The player with the most points should play at No.1 etc.
- Balls. Teams to provide a can of Tecnifibre X-One balls each.
- Weather. If interclub is cancelled due to weather conditions, please check in with your interclub coordinator or refer to the Tennis Manawatu facebook page. Cancellations are made on a club by club basis.
- Results. All results must be entered by your club. Do not send scoresheets to Tennis Manawatu (unless you have special authority to do so) Refer to your interclub coordinator for more information.
- Order of Play. Teams of 4 are to play two singles and 1 doubles match first, then reverse play. Teams of two refer to the draws as to order of play. No. 1 player must play the No.1 doubles. Home team can determine the order of play (singles or doubles first) unless specified on the draw.
- Team Commitment. Remember this is a team sport and your commitment to the team is critical for a successful season. If you are sick or unavailable to attend due to personal circumstances, please let your interclub coordinator know asap.
- Etiquette. Please follow the general tennis etiquette rules. This includes rolling the ball back to your opposition under the net, not walking behind courts while they are in play, and general good sportsmanship.
