Welcome to Junior Interclub - 2025/26 Season

The start date for 2026 junior grades is Saturday, 21st February 2026.  This will be a 7-round competition, with a Finals Day on Sunday, 29th March 2026.

🟠 Orange Grade

Held at Wallace Park

Starts at 8:30am on 21st February 2026 and runs for 6 Saturdays.

No draw – just turn up and players will be placed into matches on the day.

Important Reminders

⏰ Time Management

Please be warmed up and ready to play at your allocated match time. If a player/team is more than 20 minutes late, the opposition may claim a default win.  Teams are asked to use discretion — sometimes unavoidable circumstances (e.g. traffic delays) occur.

🎾 Balls

Each team must provide their own match balls.

🌧 Weather

If interclub is cancelled due to weather, please check with your Interclub Coordinator or refer to the Tennis Manawatu Facebook page.  Cancellations are made on a club-by-club basis.

📝 Results

All results must be entered by your club.  Please do not send scoresheets to Tennis Manawatu (unless you have special authority).  Refer to your Club Interclub Coordinator if you are unsure how to enter results.

🔄 Order of Play

Teams of 4: Play two singles and one doubles match first, then reverse the singles and doubles.

Teams of 2: Single first, followed by doubles

🤝 Team Commitment

Interclub is a team competition. Your commitment is important for a successful season.
If you are unavailable due to illness or personal circumstances, please notify your Interclub Coordinator as soon as possible.

🎾 Etiquette

Please follow general tennis etiquette:

Roll balls back under the net to your opposition

Do not walk behind courts while matches are in play

Display good sportsmanship at all times

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents

Please allow children to score their own matches.  Only intervene if necessary, and do so respectfully.  Support from the side of the court — not on the court.

Most importantly — have fun!

This is junior tennis, and the experience should be positive and enjoyable for everyone involved 😊
