SATURDAY MORNING COACHING -  pre interclub

All junior members of Belmont Park Racquets enjoy attending Saturday morning coaching during Term 1 and Term 4 as part of their membership, usually  for 8 weeks.  The group sessions are 1 hour each, commencing at 9 am, 10 am and 11 am with 3 full courts and mini tennis nets. 

The groups are based on age and ability as follows:

  9 am – 10 am – Bronze   5 – 8 year olds

10 am – 11 am – Silver      9 – 12 year olds

11 am – 12 pm – Gold       12 + years

Please note interclub juniors have their own coaching programme. The above coaching groups are for pre-interclub players.

If you are new to the club please speak to one of the coaches and we will ensure your child is placed in the ideal group for their ability so that they are learning with other children of a similar level.  If our coaches suggest your child is ready to move into a higher group, we will encourage this.

We also have new junior racquets in our Pro Shop if your child would like to upgrade their racquet.  Please ask Mark Nielsen for advice.

For children who are not yet members of the club we encourage you to pop along and join into one of the groups. It is a lot of fun! We also have many junior racquets available at the club for you to borrow if you do not yet have one of your own.

All Junior Interclub Club Teams are managed by volunteering parents with support from our Club Convenors.

Every team has one team coaching session each week with club coaches and these are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school.  

Junior Trials for interclub are held mid September.

Interclub matches are played different days for each age group:

9 – 10 years

Mixed teams of four played on Wed 4pm

11 – 12 years

Girls and boys teams played on Sat 8am – 10.30am

13 – 15 years

Girls and boys teams played on Sat either 10.30am or 1pm depending on grade

16 -18 years

Girls and boys teams played on Fri 5pm

Premier grade

(teams of 2) played on Sundays
