HEAD COACH

Ronald is originally from the Philippines and started playing tennis at the age of seven. He played initially with his friends but later on took formal lessons from a Club Coach before joining local Age Group Tournaments in High School. University studies and later a career in the military forced him to take a long absence from playing tennis which he deeply missed.
After moving to New Zealand in 2016, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to return to the sport he loved. He picked up a racquet again, spent countless hours training on the wall, and signed up to the local Club at Beach Haven. Thereafter he started participating in Interclub and Singles League Tournaments in Auckland's Northshore before deciding to pursue a career as a Tennis Coach.
Ronald was a former Defense Force Officer in the Philippine Marine Corps where he served for 20 years in various capacities including command of an infantry unit. In the course of his military career, he also served a tour in a United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Ronald has a Bachelor's Degree in Management from the Philippine Military Academy and a Masters Degree in Maritime Policy from the University of Wollongong in New South Wales that he completed under an Australian Defense Force Scholarship.
Ronald is a Tennis New Zealand National Participation Programmes Deliverer for Hot Shots, Tennis Xpress, and Cardio Tennis.
