Ronald is originally from the Philippines and moved to New Zealand in 2016. He started playing tennis at the age of 7, at first just with friends but later taking on formal lessons from a tennis coach. He enjoyed playing in Age Group Tournaments in High School and made life time friends out of it.

Ronald is a Tennis New Zealand qualfied coach (ITF Level 1) and coaches both at Beach Haven and Glenfield Tennis Clubs.
