Tennis Hot Shots

Tennis Hot Shots (THS) is the national starter tennis programme for New Zealand children. Glenfield Tennis Club offers this programme and runs on Term 1 and 4 which is included in the junior membership. This programme can also run during the Autumn and Winter season depending on the number of participants.

This is played in smaller courts, shorter racquets and softer balls.

The Developmental Factors

Tennis Hot Shots sessions are designed to ensure children can grow all aspects of their game. The important developmental factors are:

With this rounded approach, children not only develop their tennis knowledge, but a LOVE for the game that we hope will be with them for a lifetime.

Learning Through Play
A core philosophy of Tennis Hot Shots is learning through play. Children learn the game of tennis as a whole, not just individual skills. This approach keeps children actively engaged at all times whether working independently or with a partner, each child has a task and a role to play.
