Our purpose - mission, vision and values

Pukekura Park Tennis Club is Taranaki’s largest  tennis club and provides significant advantages for people of all abilities to play and improve.

Our central location - next to native bush on the edge of Pukekura Park - and our history give the club a unique position in New Plymouth. Established in 1910, we have 10 tennis courts - seven are astro turf and three plexipave courts under lights. In 2012-13 the club was named Tennis NZ Club of the Year.

We are inclusive and focused on catering to participation at all levels to enable existing & new members to achieve their full tennis potential; from the beginner to the experienced, from the social to the high performers, from the youngest to the oldest in a sustainable well managed way that encourages & sustains
engaged volunteers; while supporting New Zealand to become a great tennis nation and our players to become lifelong members of our club.

Facilities are open year-round. We have a range of coaching and playing options, and different levels of competitions for all age groups and abilities.

Year round, there is private group and individual coaching, junior squad coaching, midweek ladies social tennis, organised social play on Thursday evenings, on Sunday afternoons plus our Head Coach's popular Twilight Tennis on Wednesdays.

During the tennis summer season, daily opportunities increase with more junior & senior coaching programmes, with Interclub team competitions and practices, Monday Business House, club champs and continued organised social play such as our Head Coach's popular Wednesday Twilight Tennis.

All these provide opportunities for tennis player development through competitive and social play.

Our vision is to strive to have the best club facilities, coaching programmes & tennis events in Taranaki.
