Tennis New Zealand Development Programme (Central)
The TNZ Development Programme (Central) is a collaborative project between Tennis New Zealand and Tennis Central designed to contribute to Tennis NZ’s athlete development pathway. This systematic Tennis NZ led approach to athlete development targets high performing players born between their 11th and 14th birth year who meet the criteria outlined in the attachment below.
The daily focus of the programme is to foster a high quality training environment which prepares the athletes for the demands of Performance Tennis. Emphasis will be placed on the athletes displaying grit, commitment and respect while frequently operating on the edge of their comfort zone. The Programme is designed to work with the private coach in supporting the development of the player while holding all players to account to Programme standards and values. Information regarding selection requirements for this Programme may be found below.
