Base Tennis Junior Program
Base Tennis’ Junior Programme has been designed to reduce waiting lists and get as many kids involved in tennis as possible.
We teach tennis through modified game-play versions so that every child can start playing no matter their age or ability.
Whether they are playing to have fun with friends, be active, or to learn new skills, this programme covers it all.
All players must begin at Stage 1 as this covers the basic technical, tactical, and knowledge foundations kids are required to know in order to be successful in future stages. Once your child has completed stage 1 and been deemed competent, they will be invited to enrol in to the next stage.
The Rollers: Stage 1 (compulsory for new players)
- Age range: 5-10 years
- Court Dimensions: 6m x 10.97m
- Tennis ball: Red (25% compression)
This is the introductory program to teach young players the skills and basic understanding to play tennis. All tennis played at stage 1 is along the ground i.e. rolling tennis. It is essential all new players complete stage 1 to develop a thorough understanding of how tennis is played.
The core focus of this program is developing basic understanding of tennis techniques and tactics by removing the largest barrier, the net, and learning to play tennis along the ground.
