December Club Newsletter

As we reach the end of another busy and vibrant year at Burnside Park Tennis Club, I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for being part of such a warm and supportive community. December brings a variety of celebrations, so whether you're enjoying Christmas, Hanukkah, Bodhi Day, Ōmisoka, or simply taking some well-earned time off, I hope the month is a joyful and refreshing one for you and your families.

This year, we are once again supporting the Christchurch City Mission, and I warmly invite members to donate non-perishable food items and personal care products to help local families in need. A donation basket has been placed upstairs in the pavilion, and will be available until 18th December-every contribution, big or small, is truly appreciated.  If every family donated one item to this worthy cause then we would be able to provide over 300 items to the foodbank.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to give a big shout-out to our sponsor Fresh on Kendal. I stopped in last week and their summer fruits are looking fantastic. If you're hunting for berries for your pav, trifle, or any of your Christmas Day dishes-as well as fresh vegetables and other seasonal produce-I really encourage you to visit Maxine and the team. They're incredibly helpful and can point you toward exactly what you need. Fresh on Kendal have been a wonderful supporter of the club this year, and we encourage our members to continue supporting them on Kendal Ave.

Read our December Newsletter here.  As usual its jam packed with so much information.

For our members copies of the lastest minutes and reports can be found here

Finally, thank you for your ongoing support and for helping make our club such a positive place to be. Enjoy your summer holidays-I'll be spending three weeks in Canada where it will be snowing and dropping to around -20°C, so please enjoy the sunshine for me! I look forward to seeing you all back on court in the new year.

Best wishes
