Summer Tournaments

Our summer tournaments are all confirmed with Tennis WBoP, they are:

- Saturday 28th December 2024, the LJ Hooker Open Doubles Tournament (rain day is 29th)

- Sunday 29th December 2024, the LJ Hooker Open Mixed Doubles Tournament (no rain

day)

- Saturday 4th January 2025, the LJ Hooker Senior Doubles Tournament (rain day is 5th)

- Sunday 5th January 2025, the LJ Hooker Senior Mixed Doubles Tournament (no rain day)

Introduction

The Waihi Beach Tennis Club was established in 1931. It is well known to have the best views in the land and is situated alongside the Pohutukawa Scenic Reserve with overhanging Pohutukawa and frequent flying visits from native pigeons. We have 6 artificial grassed courts of which 2 have floodlighting. Spacious club rooms complete the picture and all this only 200 mts from Waihi Beach.

The friendly, social atmosphere of the Waihi Beach Tennis Club is another of our attractions and we play 12 months of the year! For those of you who enjoy social tennis for exercise or fitness, we play every Tuesday and Friday morning 12 months of the year. Just turn up between 8.30/9am and you will receive a warm welcome. We usually play for between 1 - 2 hours ( your choice) and a following coffee is also very popular. Presently we have over 100 financial senior members.

Team Tennis is very popular in summer on Wednesday nights (starts at 5.45 pm).
