Being a member of the Johnsonville Tennis Club links you to the club, the local tennis scene and the wider community. You get the chance to play competitive interclub tennis and can participate in club competitions. Importantly, you support a Johnsonville community facility that's been around for over 100 years and hopes to be around for a lot longer.

We offer a range of membership packages for individuals, couples and families and remain one of the lowest priced tennis clubs in the Wellington region. 

How to join. To become a member of the club, follow these easy steps:

1. Click the "JOIN NOW" button next to the membership package below that matches you or your child.
2. Click Register, enter your login details, and click Sign Up (or sign in if you already have a ClubSpark account).
3. Enter membership details.  If joining a child, enter child details and parent/guardian contact details.
4. Click Next and Continue and follow the payment instructions

We offer a number of membership categories available to new and existing Senior members, and typically two membership categories for Juniors.  Each membership category provides different levels of access to the courts and clubhouse, as well as participation rights into club tournaments.

Our season runs from 1st October to 30th September, and membership fees are set annually at the AGM. If members join partway through the season after 1st March the membership fee is pro-rated, after allowing for affiliation and administration costs. Following is a list of options available for a full season membership: 

Senior & Tertiary membership:  Members are encouraged to participate in all club arranged activities i.e. clubdays,  tournaments/championships and social events. Senior & Tertiary members can register for interclub and have access to the courts anytime outside of interclub and club arranged activities. These memberships include use of floodlights for evening play.  Note that tertiary members are required to provide proof of enrolment at a tertiary institution.

Couple membership - as for Seniors where a partner wishes to be member as well. 

Family membership - a family unit of up 2 adults and 2-4 children under <18, to a maximum of 5 people.

Junior membership - children under the age of 18.  Junior membership renews  from 1 October 2026 and includes junior club day coaching! We will be offering a variety of options for membership, coaching and interclub.

One adult plus one child 5 - 12 years - this is for an adult who just wishes to play tennis with their junior. The junior has access to junior club coaching days. An access FOB must be purchased with this membership

One adult plus one child 12-18 years as above, with the higher price reflecting the affiliation fee difference 

Junior Club Day is all go, Thursdays:

5-7 years - 3:30-4:15pm

8-10 years - 4:15-5pm

10-12 years - 5pm-6pm

12-18 years - 6pm - 7pm (from Term Four 2026)

This club day is included in the junior membership for all Johnsonville junior club members! 

Membership category fees for the 2026/27 season are per the table below:

There is a discount of $20 for renewing members if the fee is paid before 11 October 2026. Members who participate in interclub teams are asked to contribute an additional $4 per interclub match which goes towards the cost of registration of the interclub team.

Completing the membership application will be taken as providing your consent for you and/or your family to become members of Johnsonville Tennis Club and be bound by its Constitution and any club regulations. You will also be deemed a member of Tennis Capital-Coast and Tennis NZ. The Consitution and Terms & Conditions are available on the application page.

New members (except juniors) must purchase an access FOB for $20 with their membership. This cost is refundable upon return at the end of a membership.

Refund of Membership Fees

The club does not indemnify members against events that might prevent a membership from being utilised as planned, including events such as injury, illness, holidays, unexpected work commitments, unexpected travel, or moving away. Consequently, membership fees are not refundable.  However, the Committee may consider applications for refunds in exceptional circumstances; these will need to made in writing to the Secretary for consideration by the Committee.
