Friday Night Kids Social Night - FREE (for all junior members)- available School Terms 4 & 1

This is a club based program run by the club coach. It is designed to be lots of fun where children get to put into practise what they are being coached!

We follow the "Hotshots" format with lots of fun warm up drills and games with the help of parents, and on court matches, and treats.

We aim to utilise these evenings for  interclub players to practise with their teams, they will play a round with fellow club members, then split into interclub teams.

We will be making this a wonderful family club afternnoon evening, where we can play tennis, sit on the deck in the sun, have barbeque running, refreshments, and laughter!

Term 4 - Commencing Friday October 13, 2023. 4.30pm - 6pm

Open to all full financial junior club members at no additional cost.

Tuesday / Wednesday Junior Group Coaching - available ALL School Terms

All participants in the organised professional coaching groups held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays must be full financial members of the Papamoa Tennis Club.

These sessions all share the same philosophy - learning through play; using modified equipment; a progressive pathway. This allows kids to develop their skills right from the start, and continue learning at a pace that suits them!

Using modified equipment means kids can play an adult version of the game from the very start, developing technical, tactical, physical and mental skills without being put off by huge courts, heavy racquets and balls that bounce too high.

Group numbers per court will be limited, and lead by Peter Blow. If necessary  we will adjust times and/or days as participant numbers grow. In this way we are able to provide a quality experience for your child.

Children are required to bring their tennis racquets, drink bottles,sun hat, and have sunscreen, ready to start their lessons.

Whilst we have a professional coach teaching the children together with co coaches, we encourage parents to be actively engaged and on the courts. Parental help with collecting balls will help Peter maximise valuable coaching time.

Hotshots RED

• Ages 5-7  (Beginners) larger red ball 25% bounce, on a short court
• Coaching Tuesday or Wednesday 3.30pm - 4.30pm

Hotshots ORANGE

• Ages 8-10  (Beginners or younger players who have already played a season) orange ball 50% bounce.
• Coaching  Tuesday or Wednesday 4.30pm - 5.30pm

Hotshots GREEN

• Ages 10 - 12  (or advanced younger players) green/yellow ball 75% bounce.
• Coaching Tuesday or Wednesday 5.30pm - 6.30pm

Hotshots YELLOW

• (Advanced juniors,teens and interclub players) yellow ball.
• Coaching Tuesday or Wednesday 5.30pm - 6.30pm

"Squad Coaching"

Squad night coaching provides further development from the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions in more concentrated groups of 4-6 players per coach.  All strokes and tactical skills coached.  These sessions will be priced according to numbers ie. "User Pays"
