Junior Interclub
Junior Interclub is a great way for children to meet other children and experience tennis in a competition setting. Playing regularly can improve their individual and team skills and confidence, and also helps them learn game rules and scoring.
Wellington Junior Interclub is held weekly on Saturday or Sunday morning (depending on the level a team is playing at) during school terms 1 & 4. Matches can start anytime from 8:30am to 1pm, generally starting at the same time each week during a season.
Each week, the team of four players will play six games in total (each player has a singles game and a doubles game). The match usually lasts about 2.5 hours.
Junior Interclub matches rotate around various clubs in the Wellington region, including Talavera, Renouf Tennis Centre, Island Bay Tennis Club and Khandallah Tennis Club.

Talavera Junior Interclub Teams
Interclub teams have 4-6 players (teams with more than four players rotate players so everyone gets a turn).
We have several teams that your child could join at the start of each season, or if you can get together four or more children you can create your own team.
Each team needs a manager (generally a parent), and team members are responsible for getting themselves to the games.

We also have some members playing for teams of nearby clubs. We can help you find a club that has a team for your child if we don't have a team at the right level.

Junior Winter Tennis leagues
In 2022 Tennis Central has introduced Junior Winter Leagues. Players can make their own teams. Juniors can enter either the Orange, Green or Yellow League, depending on their ages and abilities. All details are on the Tennis Central website: clubspark.kiwi/renouftenniscentre/Play/Junior
