Who are we and what do we do?

Hutt Valley Tennis is the overarching body responsible for the governance, delivery, and development of tennis for its 1,100 affiliated members spread across 9 Tennis Clubs in the Hutt Valley.

The Mitchell Tennis Centre is the key asset used by Hutt Valley Tennis to host all major activity including tournaments, interclub, midweek, leagues, schools tennis, coaching activity, and public hire.  It is well utilised and visited by more than 60,000 players, supporters, coaches, school children, and private visitors each year.

The Mitchell Park Tennis Centre was first built in 1946 by the then Hutt City Council and today includes 13 tennis courts plus a large 1,500m2 pavilion featuring 5 squash courts, bar, kitchen, lounges, pro shop, and ablutions.

Hutt Valley Tennis is a not-for-profit incorporated society and is a member of Tennis Central and is affiliated with Tennis New Zealand.

The elected Management Committee oversees the use of the Mitchell Park Facilities, organises competitions, tournaments, and inter-association representative fixtures on behalf of our 9 tennis clubs.
