Brittany White to step down as General Manager of Tennis Northland

The Tennis Northland Board would like to share that Brittany White will be finishing up in her role as General Manager after two years of dedicated service to tennis across Northland.

Brittany joined us in March 2024, and during her time with Tennis Northland she has helped strengthen our organisation, modernise the way we operate, and grow the sport. Her leadership has brought fresh energy, stronger connections, and a real lift in how we engage with our clubs, players, and wider community.

Some of Brittany’s key achievements include:

  • Rebuilding strong relationships with clubs, funders, Tennis NZ and community partners.
  • Leading a full organisational rebrand and strengthening marketing and communications, helping more people stay connected and up to date.
  • Growing participation through new initiatives such as the Junior Sunday Series and social tennis nights.
  • Supporting club governance and administration improvements, including constitution updates and membership system enhancements.
  • Overseeing a 19% increase in club membership across Northland.
  • Delivering NZ’s first Blind & Low Vision Tennis Tournament, attracting international entrants and setting a new benchmark for inclusive tennis.
  • Overseeing major upgrades at the Thomas Neale Tennis Centre, including resurfacing six plexipave courts, introducing a new court‑booking system, and securing sponsorship to support ongoing maintenance.
  • Improving internal systems and processes to make operations smoother, more efficient, and better set up for the future.
  • Integrating nearly $5 million of assets from the Thomas Neale Charitable Trust, placing Tennis Northland in a strong position to grow and fully leverage opportunities at Thomas Neale Family Memorial Park.
  • Securing and delivering the recent Davis Cup Tie, and welcoming the Whitehouse Tennis Academy to base its operations at Thomas Neale.

Thanks to this work, Tennis Northland is now in a strong position for someone new to step into the role and build on the momentum generated over the past two years.

The Board will soon begin recruiting a new General Manager. Brittany will remain connected during the transition to support a smooth handover, and Cheryl Baker will step in as interim General Manager during the recruitment process.

We thank Brittany for her commitment, passion, and contribution to tennis in Northland, and we wish her all the very best for the future. Brittany’s last day will be Friday 24 April 2026.
