🎾 JUNIOR TENNIS AT ŌMOKOROA – 2026/27 SEASON 🎾

Whether your child is new to tennis, returning to the sport or already playing, we would love to hear from families interested in junior tennis in Ōmokoroa this season.

Junior/Child Club Membership

Junior/child memberships for the 2026/27 season are now available through the Ōmokoroa Community Tennis Club website.

Membership gives your child access to the courts throughout the season at no additional court-hire cost. Juniors can have a hit with a parent or caregiver, who does not need to be a club member.

This season, Hot Shots group coaching will also be included in junior/child membership. We are currently registering interest to help confirm the most suitable age groups and session time. Members renewing can register here now, you will need to renew prior to registering.  

Junior/child members can also take part in club events, including the Junior Club Championships.

New junior/child members to a WBOB Club can receive a special membership discount at:

• Love Tennis Day — 13 September (10am – 2PM @ Omokoroa courts  Western Ave) Coach Olivia will be running some session from 9am to 11am
• Junior Registration & Open Morning — 19 September (9am @ Omokoroa courts Western ave 9am)

Junior/child Coaching and Hot Shots

Coach Olivia Desset provides junior/child coaching in Ōmokoroa. We thank Coach Peter O’Dea for his many years of support; this season he is stepping back from junior coaching in Ōmokoroa to focus on his Te Puna coaching services.

Last season, numbers dropped for our younger Saturday players aged 5+ who were not yet playing interclub or taking part in development squads.

This season, Hot Shots group coaching will be included in junior membership. We first need to understand the number and ages of children interested so we can confirm the best format — whether this continues on Saturdays, as it has historically, or is offered at another suitable time.

Registrations of interest to the hot shots group coaching will be taken at love tennis, or the registration day on the 19th September or you can email the club omokoroaCTC@gmail.com.

Squads and Development Coaching

For juniors who are keen to develop their skills and progress their tennis, Olivia also provides squads and development coaching. These sessions are smaller groups and offer more focused coaching in technique, movement, match play and game understanding.

Come down, meet Coach Olivia, have a hit and register your interest in Hot Shots, squads or development coaching. You can also register your interest at Love Tennis Day on 13 September.

There is no commitment in registering your interest. It will help us confirm likely numbers, age groups and the best time for Hot Shots. We will contact registered families as soon as possible with the next steps.

Could you help us offer more for our juniors?

We would love to establish a regular junior/Child club session where children can get together for a fun, social hit. As a small volunteer committee, we need parent or caregiver support to help coordinate these sessions.

You do not need to be a tennis coach or expert player. The club will provide balls and equipment, and volunteers will be supported as part of a junior subcommittee.
