Newsletter May 2025

Dear Members,

As we look a couple of months ahead to our Annual General Meeting, scheduled for the first weekend in August, it's a fitting time to reflect on a remarkable year of tennis at our club.

Highlights include the successful hosting of our 50th Lawn Tennis Tournament, significant fundraising efforts, and the completion of our new astro courts 7 and 8. These achievements would not have been possible without the generous time and dedication of our committee members and volunteers—thank you all.

Looking forward, the next two months will see further improvements, including new gutters installed on the clubhouse and the erection of a new coaching shed. (Thank you Pub Charity)  And this is just the beginning—there’s more to come as we continue to enhance our facilities and club experience.

As you know, our club runs almost entirely on the dedication and hard work of volunteers (some pictured in action above) —with the exception of our ever-reliable groundskeeper, Gavin. Volunteers are truly the heartbeat of community clubs like ours. Their commitment not only keeps things running but also creates the welcoming, vibrant environment we all value.

As we prepare for another successful year, we warmly invite you to consider joining our volunteer team. Serving your community is incredibly rewarding—it’s a chance to give back, make meaningful connections, and play a direct role in shaping the future of our club. Whether you have a little time or a lot, every contribution makes a difference.

We’re looking for a balance of youth and experience, fresh ideas, energy, and innovation, alongside wisdom, continuity, and steady guidance. Whether you're new and enthusiastic or a long-standing member with valuable insights, your voice matters.

If you are interested in standing for the committee, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are always open to fresh perspectives and new ideas. Just a reminder—our club protocol allows us to formally welcome new committee members at the AGM, so this is the perfect time to express your interest.

We’ll share more details about volunteer opportunities and our AGM soon. In the meantime, thank you for being part of our community.

A warm welcome to our new club members
