Junior Interclub Sportsmanship Award
The quality of showing fairness, respect, and generosity toward the opposing team or player and for the sport itself when competing.
Tennis is more than a sport. Tennis teaches us life skills.
Problem solving
Adaptability
Endurance
Determination
Being humble
Dedication
Community
Fairness
Respect
These are some key words that come to my mind, and I am sure that there are different and many more that may come to yours.
Throughout the season, YOU can vote and hand in this paper to Andrea. At the end of the season, we will announce the Sportsmanship Winner who you feel has displayed honourable tennis virtues throughout this tennis season.
Keep your eye out for that person or better yet, BE THAT PERSON!!!

Cancellations (Saturday contests)
- Cancellations due to inclement weather will be determined by the team captains/ co captains on the day of play and will communicate with their players. This will be made by both team captains to agree to cancel/delay play due to weather or to proceed as scheduled.
The cancellation of play is NOT a Tennis Otago decision.
- If there is no cancellation notice, players are to report to the venue. If play is still not possible 30 minutes after the contest was due to start, the captains may then agree to cancel the contest and must notify Tennis Otago (via email to admin@tennisotago.org) if cancelled. Any team that leaves the venue before 30 minutes after the scheduled start time shall be deemed to have defaulted.
