Our Summer Junior Season starts in September and will run until April the following year
We offer the following for our Junior members:
- Cater for ages 5 upwards
- 12-month access to the club facilities
- Organised club days from September to April
- Professional coaching on club days
- Optional coaching at additional costing
- Mini tournaments and skill days
- Interclub tennis which is played between other clubs in the Western Bay and Tauranga areas
Group Coaching Sessions Included in a Junior Membership Fee:
Terms 4 and 1: Saturday Mornings and Thursday Afternoons (either/or/both)
Terms 2 and 3: Thursday Afternoons

Hot Shots Program 2023 to 2024
Gate Pa is again running its successful tennis program for young children aged 5+. Kids love the “learn by play” method of teaching and parents love professionally presented program that caters for little ones through to budding pro’s.
The Red stage is for beginners (5-7 years). The redball is larger than a yellow ball and doesn’t bounce as high (just 25% compression), making it easy for even the youngest players to hit it comfortably. The courts and nets used in the Red stage are much smaller making it easier for novice young players to move around and enjoy success.
After mastering the Red stage, children move on to the Orange stage (8-10 years) where the ball bounces a little higher (50% compression) and the court is a slightly larger. The ball used in the Green stage (9+ years) has a higher compression than the Red and Orange stages (75% of a yellow tennis ball) and children play on a full-size court.
The Gate Pa Tennis Club welcomes young players who may wish to try the “Hotshots” programme as an introduction to tennis.
