To play Junior Interclub, you must be a member of the club. There is a fee of $40 for junior interclub players, which covers court and ball costs. Members who wish to play Junior Interclub should contact the Junior Convenor (see contact details below). The Junior Convenor is responsible for providing information to junior members and selecting interclub teams for the two competitions in September and December each year. 

Once the teams have been selected, a manager is appointed for each team. The manager is a parent of one of the team members and is responsible for communicating with the other parents of the team to select a team for each match. The season is split into two halves. Each team has seven matches between October and December and another seven between February and April. Matches are either played at the club, another tennis club on the North Shore, or at Albany/Forest Hill Tennis Centres.

At each match, every player will play two matches, a singles and doubles match. The format of matches varies based on the grade you are playing in. Across all competitions, we usually field 20+ teams each year that vary in strength from social grades to the top grade for each competition.

Competitions

10 & under Mixed

Teams are made up of 4-6 players, with 4 players participating in each match. At the match each player will play a singles and doubles match to 7 games with a tie-break at 6 games all.

Played on Wednesdays from 4-5.30 pm.

12 & under Boys/Girls

Teams are made up of 4-6 players, with 4 players participating in each match. At the match each player will play a singles and doubles match to 7 games with a tie-break at 6 games all.

Played on Saturdays from 8-10.30 am.

15 & under Boys/Girls

Teams are made up of 4-6 players, with 4 players participating in each match. At the match, each player will play a singles and doubles match to 8 games with a tie-break at 7 games all.

Played on Saturdays from 10.30-1 pm or 1-3.30 pm

18 & under Boys/Girls

Teams are made up of 4-6 players, with 4 players participating in each match. At the match, each player will play a singles and doubles match (2 sets with a tie-break to 10 points at one set all)

Played on Fridays from 5-7.30 pm

Premier/Elite

Teams are made up of 2-3 players, with 2 players participating in each match. At the match, each player will play a singles (best of 3 sets) and doubles match (2 sets with a tie-break to 10 points at one set all)

Played on Sundays from 10.30-1 pm or 1-3.30 pm
