7 September 2025 LOVE Tennis

What a special day LOVE TENNIS was, where clubs came together from all over NZ and invited their communities to try the game of tennis!!!  Mairangi Bay had a great team of supporters helping run this day. Big shout out to Nathan Agethen for organising this event with massive support from Mayuko Takahashi. Head coach Blair O’Brien ran the coaching on the courts & committee members Sam, Paul & Louise all chipped in with skills on the BBQ and/or helping out with people wanting to have a hit on the court. Glen managed to gain sponsorship from Woolworths Mairangi Bay. They kindly donated a $100 Woolworth’s voucher to our club. This allowed us to buy the bangers & onions for the BBQ. This is a massive day to organise so we are very grateful for the whole team including too, lots of members that helped on the day to ensure it all ran smoothly and with great success. To all members who contributed, a big thank YOU!!!!

Calimero Pizza Mairangi Bay generously provided 10x Pizza vouchers (free of charge) to be used as prizes. We placed 10 new pizza boxes on the court as a challenge to hit the target on the court! This challenge stepped up a notch when the wind came up and made them into moving targets!!!

19 July 2025 - YOU Travel & Cruise quiz night and silent auction fundraising night

Lots of energy & enthusiasm seen on this night! Thank you to everyone who attended to support the club and enjoy quenching your thirst at the newly christened bar.

All the beautifully wrapped Silent Auction gifts were displayed on the kitchen worktops showcasing the revamped kitchen area.

We had 8 very competitive (brainy bunch) teams.

Ace Avengers & The Presidents Letters table gained the highest scores. The latter table won on the night by 1 point. Congratulations to the winning team.

It was also very convenient to be able to Buy an Answer!

Thanks to Kirsten & the Social Committee and Kirsten’s family members who compered and helped run this event on the night, so appreciated.

22 June 2025 AGM and Roy Cooper Memorial Tournament
"Wimbledon Whites" was the theme of the tournament.

Doubles were played with 'drawn partners' with 3 rounds of 25 minute games
There were prizes for highest scoring team.
Delicious scones were served with lashings of fresh whipped cream and strawberry jam - in keeping with our Wimbledon  theme. A delicious cheeseboard (from the Artisan Hub in Mairangi Bay) was polished off very quickly.

The AGM and prize giving followed the tournament.
