Sausages, Smiles & Support for Our New Club Home

What a fantastic start we’ve had to our Building Fund fundraising efforts!

Thanks to the incredible support of our members, families, and friends, our two recent Bunnings sausage sizzles have now raised over $1,500 clear profit toward our relocation and future club facilities. That’s an amazing result and something everyone involved should feel very proud of.

Our very first barbecue certainly gave us a memorable introduction to fundraising life! As many will remember, the day was unfortunately cut short at midday because of the incoming cyclone. Even with the early finish, the team kept the laughs coming, spirits high, and sausages sizzling right up until pack-up time.

Since then, the momentum has only grown. Everyone who has helped out on the barbie has had a genuinely great time, and almost every volunteer has said the same thing afterwards — “Happy to do it again?”

There’s something pretty special about spending the day together chatting with customers, cooking onions, and working alongside fellow club members. It’s been a wonderful reminder that fundraising isn’t just about raising money — it’s also about building club / community spirit and having fun together.

We also note there were a couple of “team stalking” moments spotted along the way… with some people appearing to suddenly become very interested in the opposite side of the Bunnings carpark while trying to avoid our enthusiastic sales team! Don’t worry — we saw you!

The good news is that our next barbecue dates are already locked in, with two teams signed up for 20th  June. A huge thank you in advance to everyone volunteering their time.

And if you and a group of friends would like to join the action, we’re now looking ahead to July. We’d love to have more helpers involved, so please get in touch if you’re keen to put together a team.
